Millet Vermicelli Upma Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup Foxtail Millet, vermicelli
  • 1 Onion, sliced
  • 1 teaspoon Mustard seeds (Rai/
    Kadugu)
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds (Jeera)
  • 2 tablespoon Raw Peanuts
    (Moongphali)
  • 1 sprig Curry leaves
  • 1 tablespoon Sambar Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Turmeric powder
    (Haldi)

Salt, to taste Oil

Instructions for Millet Vermicelli Upma Recipe

  • 1.To begin making the Foxtail
    Millet Vermicelli Upma Recipe, place a skillet over medium heat.
  • 2.Add oil, sprinkle mustard
    seeds, cumin seeds and allow it splutter for few seconds. 
  • 3.Add curry leaves and allow it
    to crackle. Add peanuts and fry them until they turn light brown.
  • 4.Add sliced onions and saute
    until they turn translucent. Add sambar powder, salt and turmeric powder.
  • 5.You can add foxtail millet
    vermicelli and mix well. Add about 1 cup of water and keep it in low flame and
    cook till the water evaporates.
  • 6.Once all water is absorbed you
    can give it a stir and serve hot.
